Lauri Nemetz – Dissection and Perception

Lauri Nemetz - Dissection and Perception

Check it out: Lauri Nemetz – Dissection and Perception

Our perception informs what we understand in anatomy, and particularly the way fascia has been traditionally revealed or discarded. Dissection techniques throughout time have produced images that alter our thinking of body perception. We will explore some of the changes in anatomical understanding and trace the historical progression of dissection, from ancient practices to new ideas in connection (such as Anatomy Trains) to methods of decellurization to plastination. Enjoy this lecture filled with anatomical images (old and new!)

Lauri Nemetz has been a fully certified Anatomy Trains teacher since 2013 and has assisted Anatomy Trains dissections since 2014. She is an Adjunct Associate Professor at Pace University (Pleasantville, NY) and has a long career in teaching, movement, therapy and anatomy work. She is a member of the American Association for Anatomy and is a current dissection team member of the Fascial Net Plastination Project. She regularly teaches workshops internationally and has presented at conferences including at Harvard Medical and Oxford University.
