The Ultimate Productivity Course for Entrepreneurs

Don’t settle for procrastination, frustration and overwhelm… again. Make the next 3 months your most productive ever!

You Don’t Need More Information… You Need Better Implementation!

Are you tired of feeling like you’re spinning your wheels & and not making real, tangible progress towards your goals?

As an entrepreneur, you need to be productive. Way more productive than a typical employee.

And the truth is: you already know most (or all) of what you need to know to succeed. You’ve watched the tutorials, read the blog posts, followed the courses.

If a friend asked you “how do I get more traffic to my site?” or “how can I grow my business faster?” I bet you’d be able to give a good answer!

But when it comes to your own business, you still struggle to get better results.

And I bet you have a whole bunch of notes about ideas for how you could add more products, charge higher prices, build and grow your business beyond just initial success…

… the problem is you’re not getting these things done.

How Often Do You End a Day Feeling Fully Satisfied With Your Productivity?

How often do you mentally high-five yourself for nailing your daily goals and making clear, visible progress? And how often do you shut your laptop with an exhausted sigh, after a day of doing all kinds of busywork that feels like you got nothing done?

How often do you catch yourself browsing Instagram, Facebook, Reddit or whatever your choice of social media, when you know you should be working?

How often do you grab your phone to quickly check something, only to get sucked in to messaging, social media and other distractions?

We all know what it’s like: even if you have the best intentions, it’s just so easy to get distracted. You go to YouTube to look up a useful tutorial… and before you know it, 3 hours have passed and you’ve fallen down a rabbit-hole of videos.

And sometimes, you’re just too tired or not in the mood to do the work. You know it’s important, but you don’t have the energy to do more than plop down on the couch and treat yourself to some Netflix.

All of these behaviors are totally understandable. In fact, they’re completely normal, these days. But let’s be real: if you want to take your business success to the next level, something has to change.

Are You Stuck in the “Unproductive Busywork Cycle”?

Even if you manage to avoid the typical pitfalls of distraction and social media, you can still stay stuck in a “busywork spiral of death”.

I know that I can spend all day answering emails, Slack messages, checking analytics dashboards, updating to-do lists and doing all kinds of other work-like activities that don’t move me closer to my goals in the least.

And I hate it when a day ends and I realize that’s all I’ve done. It feels like a wasted day.

It’s easy to get stuck in a busywork cycle like this – and it’s exactly what leads to the kind of day where you’re doing stuff all day, but still feel like you got nothing done.

So, what do we do? We turn to productivity tips and tools and apps…

Why Productivity Tips Won’t Save You…

The problem is: a lot of productivity advice out there has failure built in!

Why?

Because people create content that gets views, clicks, shares… not content that actually works. And what gets the most clicks and shares? Productivity “tips” and “hacks” and new apps and tools to use.

Anything that’s framed as short, simple, quick. And best of all if it involves a shiny new thing! Something new to buy or install.

That’s the content that works. People love watching a 5 minute video and installing a new app. That’s a quick way to feel like you’ve done something productive. Gives you a good feeling… and no results. That way, you’ll be back for the next video or article about “10 super easy productivity hacks”.

If you want to make actual progress and become the kind of person who gets stuff done at an extraordinary rate, you need something more than ordinary productivity advice.

In many cases, you need the exact opposite of the typical productivity advice you find online.

The Greatest Enemy of Focus… is Growing Steadily Stronger!

Procrastination and a lack of productivity is on the rise everywhere…

… there’s one big enemy of productivity and this enemy has been growing stronger at a rapid rate…

… that enemy is DISTRACTION.

We live in a world of distraction. More distraction than any of us could have imagined even just 10 years ago.

And what’s worse, some of the most powerful businesses in the world are specializing in “distraction warfare” – they’re investing in getting better and better at keeping you distracted.

Think about all the businesses that “feed” on your attention. Instagram, Netflix, Facebook… every streaming service, every news website and app, every social media platform, every messaging app…

They all need to distract you better and more often, to succeed. They want more of your time and more of your attention. And they’ll do anything to get it.

Okay, but is distraction really THAT much of a problem?

Yes. But don’t take it from me. Here are a few simple facts, based on studies done on productivity:

1

Whenever you switch from one task to another, there’s a “task switching cost”. Even if you simply interrupt your work by quickly checking your messages, there’s a mental cost to this switch.

2

Up to 40% of productive hours are lost, due to this task switching cost. 40%! That’s 16 hours of time WASTED during an average work week.

3

After getting distracted and moving back to the original task, it takes an average of 23 minutes to get fully back on track and re-focused.

4

Most people check their phones around 80 times per day. That comes out to an average of about once every 12 minutes.

Think about it: you’re distracted by your phone every 12 minutes. It takes 23 minutes to fully get back into focus on a task.

That means most people are never fully focused. Most people are, literally, always in a distracted state and probably can’t even remember what it’s like to be fully focused.

And that’s only considering distractions on the phone!

If you’re the type to always have 20 browser tabs open to switch between, you’re distracting yourself at record rates!

The Simple Truth is: if You Don’t Fix The Distraction Problem Nothing Else Matters.

I’ve designed a productivity system to deal with the problems of productivity.

The fist step is to master focus & defeat distraction. Until you do so, nothing else matters. No productivity system or tip or hack or habit or morning routine is going to make a difference if you remain in perpetual distraction.

Once you regain your ability to focus, you’ll unlock a well of productivity you didn’t even know was there. You’ll be amazed at how much you’re capable of doing! That brings us to step 2, which is to take the right actions to move towards your goals.

focus & action – The Complete, Ruthlessly Practical Productivity System

I created the focus & action course to solve all the problems I see in mainstream productivity advice.

focus & action is an online course that teaches you the complete productivity system that I have developed over more than a decade of being a self-employed entrerpeneur.

This is the system that built several 6 and 7 figure businesses.

People who know me personally often ask me how I can get so much done and the truth is, there’s no single book or course or other source I can point them to. I’ve read piles of books on productivity, I’ve tried every system I could find… but that’s not what made me productive.

Over the last 10 years, I have always been working on at least 2 businesses. In other words: I’ve been perpetually mega-busy for a decade.

In order to succeed and not drown in work, I had to dig deep and develop systems that get results. Real results, in the real world, not just the satisfaction of checking some boxes off a to-do list.

focus & action is that system. It contains all the time-tested, battle-hardened strategies I use to get sh*t done.

About Shane Melaugh

Maybe you’re wondering: why should I take a productivity course made by this guy?

I’m Shane Melaugh, I’m a serial entrepreneur and I started deliberately working on improving my own productivity over 10 years ago. Since then, I’ve built up several successful businesses, built highly effective teams from the ground up, spoken at events to large crowds and published hundreds of articles as well as over 1,000 videos.

I strongly believe that the proof is in the pudding. I believe that the value of productivity is in what you ship – what you actually deliver and how that affects other people and the world. And I’m excited to teach this kind of pragmatic, results driven productivity to people like you!

“The course showed me how much of my time was being frittered away on constant checking of email and social media. ‘Freedom Time’ has been a revelation!

Shane’s is a calm voice of reason in the overhyped, jargon-heavy world of online business. His advice is always based on sound evidence and experience.
Thank you for a really well-crafted course.”

Victoria Hopkins

“Shane is able to convey the principles and systems in a clear and concise way.

Doing this course together with him has been like immersing me for a month in his world and better understanding his philosophy of life and entrepreneurship, far from the thundering proclamations of many business gurus, and much closer to the reality of things.”

What You’ll Discover in focus & action

The Focus Skill

Focus is a skill. And most of us are terrible at it. We live in a world of constant distraction and that’s a major reason we can’t get much done. As you’ll see, there are specific and straight-forward ways to strengthen your “focus muscle” and they can make all the difference!

Freedom Time

Speaking of distraction: a core system in focus & action is the creation and cultivating of “freedom time”. Time during which you are completely undistracted, 100% focused and do your best work, period.

Push & Pull Goals

Most people do goal setting dead wrong. Most goals are set in such a way that they have failure built in. Once you learn the “pushing force” and “pulling force” principle, you’ll be able to set goals that propel towards action, almost automatically.
