My Most Used Power Lick

This Powerlick is one of my all time favorite alternate picking shred licks. It’s sharp and accurate, but wild and unpredictable at the same time. I use alternate picking for the entire lick, but I will also show you how to play it using hammer on and pull offs.
The lick can be used in all three notes per string scale shapes and it will work for any style of music though primarily rock and flamenco style.

What Is A Power Lick?

One thing is to learn the techniques required to play fast – another is to learn how to use the technique to play blazing runs and terrifying licks. One Power Lick can create hundreds of runs, licks and lines. Each one sounding different than the one before.

A power Lick is a flexible bundle of little sequences that combines easily into one Power Lick that you can move around the neck. You now have the ability to improvise your runs and you have the power to take them anywhere on the neck and and stop the runs exactly when you want.
